QUO India leads media familiarization trip to Amari properties in Thailand
Six months after being awarded the India PR account for ONYX Hospitality Group, QUO India brought a team of top Indian journalists to Thailand for a familiarization trip to Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui and Amari Atrium Bangkok.
The media group, which included the editor of Business India, along with journalists representing The Hindu, HT Brunch, Robb Report, The Telegraph, Mail Today, Hi-Living, Business Standard and Andpersand, enjoyed a five day itinerary developed by QUO in partnership with the team at Onyx Hospitality Group with the aim of showcasing the Amari properties as well as the destinations.
Activities included a visit to Angthong National Marine Park, a rum distillery, night markets, cultural shows and the newly opened Asiatique – a dining and entertainment venue on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
The journalists also had the opportunity to spend an evening at the Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui with General Manger Christoph Leonhard. Here, they enjoyed dinner at Italian restaurant Prego, followed by the colourful Starz Cabaret.
While in Bangkok, the group met with ONYX Hospitality Group Executive Vice President Nigel Harris to discuss the corporate plans of the group, while Assistant Professor Ajarn Saisamorn, Chief Technical Officer and Food Consultant for Thai on 4 at the Amari Watergate Bangkok, provided them with an insight into the history of Thai cuisine.
With a cuisine-centric focus for the trip, the journalists were taken to the local Klong Lad Mayom market on the banks of a countryside canal, where they were taught classic Thai dishes by the Executive Chef of the Amari Atrium Bangkok.
